Genstar4 EAC
The EAC module supports the procurement of balancing services, such as frequency response and reserves, in a more efficient and co-optimised manner on the NESO EAC auction platform . Key features include the ability for providers to submit multiple, co-optimised bids across different services and split their asset's capacity, allowing the auction algorithm to select the option that delivers the best market value.
The EAC module features include:
- The procurement of Dynamic Containment (DC), Dynamic Moderation (DM) and Dynamic Regulation (DR) together in a single auction.
- Balancing Reserve (BR) and Quick Reserve (QR) services can be procured through EAC.
- Full support for bidding activity for Slow Reserve (SR).
- Multiple offers can be submitted through EAC across different response services, allowing the auction clearing algorithm to select the option that optimises the market most efficiently.
- Full support for EAC baskets and basket families (the grouping of orders) is provided by EAC. This includes parent orders, child orders and substitutable orders.
- Results of EAC bidding are automatically transferred to ATOM to ensure assets are instructed into the appropriate ancillary service mode. The Atom optimisation module can also automatically conduct bidding activity to ensure Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) assets are in the required state of charge (SoC) to deliver the service.
Genstar4 also provides full support for Non-Balancing Mechanism unit dispatch of ancillary services with the NBM AS Module.
